What are the types of Corrugated Breathing Circuit?

Date:2022-12-22
A corrugated breathing circuit is a circuit that supplies pressurized gas to a patient. There are many types of corrugated breathing circuits on the market. They are manufactured in a variety of shapes and sizes to meet different clinical requirements. The Corrugated Breathing Circuit is designed with flexibility and functionality in mind.

Flow sensors and pressure transducers are used to measure the flow of air in the breathing circuit. If the flow is low, the resistance of the circuit may not be sufficient to support the required inhalational gas concentrations. For instance, if the flow is less than 0.6 L/m, it can be difficult to breath spontaneously. When the flow is above 0.6 L/m, it reduces the work needed to breathe and improves the mixing of gases in the circuit.

A corrugated breathing circuit is designed with a thin tube part and a thicker walled portion. The thinner tube part allows the circuit to be lightweight and reduces the load on the patient. This aspect of the circuit provides a better hygienic design and excellent ventilation.

Other types of breathing circuits include the serpentine tube, which is a thick-walled tube that is configured to supply pressurized air to the patient. In fact, the serpentine tube is commonly referred to as the Ben Fa Ming ha, in reference to the Chinese inventor, Shang Jiang Fu Dian to.

Another type of breathing circuit is the manual breathing bag. This is a flexible bag that deflates during inspiration and inflates during expiration. It is designed to be attached to an anesthesia machine. These bags are available with HME or without.

Some disposable anesthesia breathing circuits are specifically designed for a single patient. These systems have good press tightness and elasticity and match well with anesthesia machines. However, they are sensitive to moisture accumulation in the bellows. Thus, it is possible to experience leaks. To counteract this, the circuit is protected by an optional condenser.
